Liberty, Mo. - The Newman softball team ends its road season today (April 15) at William Jewell in a doubleheader at 2:30 p.m. Live stats will be available.

NU split a doubleheader on Monday (April 13) against Fort Hays State at the Newman Softball Field.
Annie Gentry singled with the bases loaded to plate the game-winning run for a 7-6 win in game one. It's the fourth walk-off win for the Jets this season with three of them coming against Kansas MIAA opponents. NU hit walk-off home runs to beat both Pittsburg State and Emporia State this season. The Jets are currently 12-31 and 6-12 in the Heartland Conference. In the doubleheader on Monday,
Taylor Mannis went a combined 6-for-8 with two RBI. For the season, she is hitting .359 and has a team-high eight stolen bases.
Courtney Sartin leads the team with a .360 average and 49 hits and five doubles. She has three home runs and 18 RBI.
Katie Ingles has a 5.10 ERA with a 6-13 record. She has a team-high 76 strikeouts.

The Cardinals are 21-18 on the season and 9-13 in the GLVC. Faith Song leads the team with a .382 average and nine home runs. Nona Pauline is hitting .364 with a team-high 13 doubles. She adds five home runs. Song is also the best pitcher for WJC with a 2.92 ERA and 5-3 record in 13 appearances. Shelby McGraw has a 3.59 ERA and an 8-6 record.

After today's doubleheader, the Jets end the regular season with 10-straight home games. NU plays St. Edward's this weekend in three conference games.Â
