ODESSA, Texas – The Newman volleyball team looks to continue its winning streak tonight (Sept. 17) at Texas-Permian Basin at 7 p.m. at the Falcon Dome. The Jets are currently on a four-match winning streak. Live stats and video are available for tonight's contest.
NU started its four-match at the Arkansas Tech Tournament last weekend. The Jets won against Ouachita Baptist, Arkansas Tech, Midwestern State and Missouri Southern, including three 3-0 victories. After the stellar weekend, middle hitter

Alexus Litts were named Heartland Conference Players of the Week. NU went 5-1 last week with the lone loss a five-set thriller to defeating Heartland Conference champion UA Fort Smith. For the season, the Jets are 6-4.
Gonzalez leads the Jets with a 3.94 kills per set average, tops in the Heartland Conference as well.
Kayla Turner adds 2.82 kills per set. Gonzalez is hitting .392 for the season. Litts is totaling 10.66 assists per set, and
Anna Burton averages 5.56 digs per set.
The Falcons are currently 1-6 on the season and 0-1 at home. They lost their home opener to Wayland Baptist on Tuesday (Sept. 15) by the score of 3-0. UTPB's one win is a conference victory over St. Mary's on Sept. 10 in San Antonio, Texas. Caitlyn Guajardo leads the team in kills at 1.86 per set, and Puava Tulau adds 1.76 kills per set. Ariana Gallardo has a team-best 4.39 assists per set. Jordan McDonald totals 3.86 digs per set to lead the Falcons.
After tonight's contest, the Jets travel to Lubbock Christian on Saturday (Sept. 17) for a 12 p.m. match in Lubbock, Texas.
