WICHITA, Kan. — Getting back to work after the thanksgiving break, the Newman men's basketball team continues a tough road stretch in nonconference play with a trip to in-state foe Washburn Saturday afternoon.

The Jets (1-5) will face a stiff challenge from the Ichabods (7-0), who host Newman in their final tune-up before beginning MIAA play. Three of Washburn's wins have come by one possession, including a 65-63 win over Lubbock Christian during a holiday trip to Puerto Rico.

Despite their record, the Jets have played right with teams over their last four games, grabbing an 82-76 win over Manhattan Christian two weeks ago, and falling 69-66 in a game that came down to the wire Saturday at Rockhurst.
