WICHITA, Kan. — Looking to keep the momentum going from grabbing a pair of league wins last weekend, the Newman softball team faces off against Rogers State in a three-game Heartland Conference series Thursday and Friday at the Newman Softball Field.
SCOUTING NEWMAN
The Jets (11-21, 3-6 Heartland) snagged wins in their final two games to win a conference series against Texas A&M International last weekend, earning a walk-off victory in 11 innings Friday night and turning around to put up a 3-0 shutout Saturday afternoon. They followed that up with another marathon Tuesday night with an 11-inning walk-off win against Washburn in a doubleheader split.

The Hillcats (12-20, 2-10 Heartland) have picked it up just as the Jets have over the last week, recording a sweep in a doubleheader against Drury last week and then taking two out of three against Texas-Permian Basin in a league series last weekend.

-These will be the first road games for the Hillcats since wrapping up a three-game conference series at Lubbock Christian on March 5. The Jets, on the other hand, are in the middle of a string of 22 home games with just five games on the road in over month.
-Delaney Hiegert and Missy Swanson each posted their first extra-base hits of the season during Tuesday's first game. Hiegert put the Jets ahead for the first time with a two-run double to deep left-center, and Swanson collected her second walk-off in five days with her first home run in 13 months.
