WICHITA, Kan. — The Newman softball team continues its run of early season tournaments with a trip to Midwestern State this weekend.
The Jets (2-4) will play five games against five separate opponents across Friday, Saturday and Sunday at the MSU Round Robin, with a single game Friday followed by two days of doubleheaders. Southwest Baptist (0-0) kicks things off at 5 p.m. Friday, followed by games against Missouri S&T (0-2) and host Midwestern State (3-5) beginning at 9:30 a.m. Saturday. The event wraps up against Colorado Mines (0-0 at 9:30 a.m. and Southwestern Oklahoma State (2-4) at 2:30 p.m. Sunday.
Newman started off its season at the SAU Softball Invitational last weekend, capping the week with a pair of exciting wins Sunday afternoon over Tarleton State and Washburn. They'll look to continue that momentum as they head to Texas, where they'll face a pair of teams that haven't played yet this year, and two more that got a challenge at the Southeastern Oklahoma tournament last week.
Live stats for all five games will be available at www.newmanjets.com.
