THE COACHES
Andrea Gustafson enters her first year as the Head Women's Softball Coach at Newman University, after joining the Jet family August 13, 2019.
Gustafson brings 15 years of college head coaching experience and nearly 600 career victories to the Jets program. She led the Seward County Community College program to four NJCAA Region VI tournament championships and two trips to the National Junior College World Series
During her collegiate playing career, Gustafson was a two-time Pac-10 All-Conference second baseman at the University of Oregon, helping lead the Ducks to three NCAA appearances.
Last season, Gustafson served as an assistant coach for Garden City Community College.
Jill Devries is entering her second season as the Head Softball Coach for the Lady Ranger Softball team. Webb-DeVries took over during the first conference series of the season and following a rough start to the season, the team experienced a revival under coach Webb and finished the season with a 16-23 record during her guidance. The resurgence of the program under her guidance earned her a promotion to a full time position towards the latter part of the season. Webb-DeVries' team in her inaugural year in the black-and-red finished just one game away from qualifying for the GAC post-season tournament. That team also featured a pair of Honorable Mention All-Conference performers in Madison McGraw and Madison Garza. Prior to joining the Northwestern softball staff, Webb-DeVries held the assistant position at the University of Redlands in Redlands, Calif. She was a member of the staff for two full years and her responsibilities included coaching third base, working with catchers as well as outfielders
