LAST TIME OUT
In the second game of the day, the Jets would turn things around. With help from her defense who make 14 of the 15 outs in the game, Anna Veltien would toss her first collegiate no hitter. Veltien would finish the day going 5 innings giving up no hits, no walks and one unearned run. The only runner to reach base for the Rangers in the game was on a throwing error by third basemen Shanda Cox. Despite, the defense losing the perfect game, they were a big reason to why the no hitter happened as Veltien only had one strikeout. This means her defense recorded 14 of the 15 outs in the game for her, 10 flyouts and 4 groundouts.

LAST TIME VS FRIENDS

Game 1

The Jets were able to take a quick 1-0 lead in the bottom of the first as Bailey Bugner singled to the pitcher and scored leadoff hitter Lauren Kurhrt, who singled earlier in the game and stole second. The Falcons were able to set up a big fourth inning as they would get production from a variety of its lineup, beginning with a double to center field and a single up the middle which tied the game at one. Later in the inning the Falcons were able to get a couple walks who would later score to give the Falcons an early 3-1 lead.  The Jets were looking at a four run deficit going into the later portion of the game, looking to make a strong case for a comeback. The Jets would fall short as they would fall in the first game 6-1 as the early deficit was too much that late in the game.

Game 2

Looking to make a strong case in game two trying to gain some momentum in the second game, the Jets found themselves down early but their persistence really show in the middle and later part of game 2. In the bottom of the second inning Lacey Colvin was able to come up and get Newman started with a double to center field, Emma Eck would follow that up with an infield single scoring Colvin and cutting into the Falcon lead. Jamee Compton later came up and hit a big two run home run to left center tying the game at three.  Going into the bottom of the sixth, the teams were looking at a tied game as the Jets were coming up in the inning. Emma Eck got things started with a double to left center bringing up Lauryn Ogden who singled up the middle scoring Eck and giving the Jets the 4-3 lead going into the final inning. The Jets would get the game 2 victory with bailey Bugner throwing seven innings striking out two and walking one in a complete game effort.  Emma Eck went two for three with an RBI while Jamee Compton went one for three with two RBIs in the game 2 victory.

UP NEXT
The Jets will travel to Kansas City, Mo. to take on Rockhurst on Saturday Feb. 22nd with the doubleheader starting at 2:00 P.M.
