Drury Invitational Schedule
Feb. 29 vs. William Jewell at 10:00 a.m., and vs. Lincoln at 12:00 p.m.
Mar. 1 vs. Northwest Missouri State at 11 a.m., and at Drury at 1:45 p.m.
 
WICHITA, Kan. - Newman softball will travel to Springfield, Mo. to compete in the Drury Invitational from Feb. 29 – Mar. 1.  They will compete against William Jewell, Lincoln, Northwest Missouri State and host Drury.
 
NEWMAN Bats on Fire
The Jets have six players with at least a .300 batting average led by Senior infielder Lacey Colvin with a .389 batting average on the season.
 
Newman pitching continues to improve
Newman pitching continues to improve posting a team ERA of 6.26 led by Sophomore pitcher Anna Veltien with a 4.53 ERA including a No-Hitter on Feb. 18 @ Northwestern Oklahoma State.

William Jewell
The Cardinals are 3-5 on the season after going 2-2 in the Lewis Dome Invitational defeating #3 Grand Valley State and Parkside, they lost to Purdue Northwest and Saginaw Valley State.  The Cardinals have three players batting .300 led by Allison Rawls at .333.  The Cardinals pitching staff has a team ERA of 4.46 and are led by Kenzie Jones with a 2.50 ERA.
 
Series History
This will be the 17^th meeting between the Jets and the Cardinals with William Jewell leading the series 11-5.  With the latest matchup being April 1^st, 2019 as the Cardinals defeated the Jets 1-0.
 
Lincoln
The Blue Tigers are 4-0 on the season after defeating Lane College twice over the weekend.  Lincoln as a team has a team batting average of .476 with 7 active batters with at least a .400 batting average led by Jordan Lawson with a .571 batting average.  As a pitching staff, they are posting a .33 ERA led by Tessa Hughes with 11 strikeouts in 8 innings of work.  
 
Series History
This will be the eleventh meeting between the Jets and the Blue Tigers with the Jets leading the series 6-4.  The latest matchup being Feb. 20, 2016 where the Jets defeated Lincoln 12-1.
 
Northwest Missouri State
The Bearcats are 3-11 on the season after going 1-4 in the 5 state classic over the weekend.  The only win was against Minnesota Duluth 2-1.  Northwest Missouri State has three players hitting over .300 on the season led by Olivia Daugherty with a .396 batting average.  The Bearcat pitching staff has a 5.72 ERA led by Christina Campbell at 3.94 ERA. 
 
Series History
This will be the third meeting between Newman and Northwest Missouri State. The Bearcats lead the series 2-0.
Drury
The Panthers are 6-4 on the season after taking 2 of 3 from Upper Iowa University over the weekend.  The Panthers have four batters hitting over .300 on the season led by Serenity Healy with a .375 batting average.  The Panthers pitching staff is posting a team ERA of 1.94 led by Haylee Van Deventer with a .88 ERA in 16 innings of work.
