Newman Softball Schedule 2/2/2021 – 2/6/2020
Feb. 2 vs. East Central University at 2:00 and 4:00 P.M.
Feb. 5 vs  West Texas A&M at 12:00 PM and at Lubbock Christian University at 4:00 P.M.
Feb. 6 vs Texas Permian Basin at 11:00 AM and vs Midwestern State at 1:00 P.M.
 
WICHITA, Kan. - Newman Softball returns to the diamond this week as they host East Central University on Feb 2^nd before they hit the road to compete in the Lubbock Christian Tournament in Lubbock, Texas on Feb. 5^th and 6^th against West Texas A&M, Lubbock Christian, Texas Permian Basin, and Midwestern State.
 
Newman returns 13 players from a season ago.
The Jets return 13 players from a season ago including Sophomore Outfielder Lauren Kuhrt who had a batting average of .330, Senior Infielder Emma Eck who had a batting average of .315, Shanda Cox with a .389 batting average and Jaleigh Conkle who batted .311 last season.
 
Anna Veltien leads the Jets Pitching staff for 2021
Newman brings back one pitcher from a season ago, Sophomore Anna Veltien, who completed a shorten 2020 season with a 3.45 ERA.

East Central University
The Tigers are 0-0 on the 2021 season after going the 2020 season 4-15 in the GAC.
 
Series History
This will be the fifth and sixth meetings between Newman and East Central with East Central leading the series 3-1.

LUBBOCK CHRISTIAN TOURNAMENT
 
West Texas A&M
The Buffs are 0-0 on the 2021 season after going the 2020 season 14-9 in the Lone Star Conference.

This will be the seventh meeting between Newman and West Texas A&M with the Buffs leading the series 6-0.
 
Lubbock Christian
The Chaps are 1-2 on the 2021 season falling in their recent matchup to West Florida 2-1 and 7-1. The Chaps have one batter hitting over .300, Savannah Wysocki at .455.  The Chaps have 2 pitchers with 0.00 ERA, Taylor Franco and Rachel Kuehnle.
