Newman Softball Schedule 3/26/2021 -3/27/2021

WICHITA, Kan. – The Newman Jets continue their homestand this week as Central Missouri and Lincoln come to NU Softball Field for MIAA Conference play with the Jets taking on the Jennies on March 26^th at 2:00 and 4:00 PM and the Blue Tigers on March 27^th at 1:00 and 3:00 PM.
 
Ullery's three homerun performance highlights the Jets hitting over the weekend.
In the Jets doubleheader matchup with the Gorillas over the weekend, Taylor Ullery had an amazing day at the plate going 4-6 which included 3 homeruns and 7 RBI's in game 2 and 3 walks in game 1.  The Jets in game 2 of the doubleheader had a season high 20 hits including 10 players having at least 1 hit.  As a team, the Jets have a batting average of .282  with 6 players hitting above .300 led by Shanda Cox at .448, Taylor Ullery at .383, Emma Eck at .379 and Anissa Ramos at .371.
 
Newman Pitching will look for better results this week vs Central Missouri and Lincoln
Newman pitching has a team ERA of 7.90.  Anna Veltien leads the Jets in ERA with a 6.91 ERA in 12 appearances.

Central Missouri Jennies
The Jennies are 13-3 on the 2021 season and 2-0 in the MIAA.  Central Missouri's previous matchup came on Mar. 21^th where they defeated Concordia- St. Paul 7-5 and St. Cloud State 7-6.  The Jennies have a team batting average of .354 with 11 players hitting above .300 led by Makenzie Cooper with a .567 batting average.  The Gorillas have a team ERA of 2.55 led by Kyleigh lay with a 1.53 ERA.
 
Series History
This will be the 2^nd and 3rd meetings between these schools with Central Missouri leading the series 1-0 over Newman.

Lincoln Blue Tigers
The Blue Tigers are 3-12-1 on the 2021 season and 1-5 in the MIAA.  Lincoln's previous matchup came on Mar. 21^st  where they were swept by Fort Hays State 4-0, and 10-4.  The Blue Tigers have a team batting average of .254 with 5 players hitting above .300 led by Jacqueline Marquez with a .415 batting average.  The Blue Tigers have a team ERA of 5.96 led by Shannon Greene with a 1.05 ERA.
 
Series History
This will be the 12^th and 13^th meetings between these schools with Newman leading the series 7-4.
