KANSAS CITY, Mo. –  The MIAA announced its academic awards for Cross Country and a total of 4 women and 6 men on the Newman Cross Country teams were honored.
 
To be eligible for Academic Honor Roll a student must have a cumulative grade point average used by the institution for purposes of NCAA academic certification of 3.00 at the certifying member institution and have at least 2 terms of grades reported at the certifying member institution, excluding summer terms.

The 4 members of the Women's Cross Country team that earned Academic Honor Roll for Newman are Juniors Elise Helfrich, Samantha Holmes, Ashley Salgado, and Senior Caroline Williams.

The 6 members of the Men's Cross Country team that earned Academic Honor Roll for Newman are Sophomore Asher Brown, Junior Kevin Chemalmal, Seniors Jesus Jimenez, Michael Alvarez, Austin Fullerton, and Ezekiel Kemboi.
