WICHITA - Newman Athletics announces the resignation of Head Volleyball Coach Marisa Compton on Monday morning. 

Jets Volleyball posted an 11-77 record in three seasons under Compton. The 2024 campaign resulted in a 3-27 record. During her time at Newman, Compton coached six All-Conference players, including Riley Daugherty, who earned All-MIAA Second Team in 2022.

In the classroom, 27 Jets earned Academic All-MIAA honors. During the 2023-24 academic year, the team posted a 3.598 GPA, qualifying that year's group for the American Volleyball Coaches Association (AVCA) Team Academic Award.

The search for the next Head Volleyball Coach will begin immediately.
