MATCH NOTES

WICHITA -
The Newman University women's soccer team returns home for its second home contest of the season, hosting non-conference arch-rival Rockhurst in a 6 p.m. contest Wednesday evening at Wilkins Field.

About the Jets...
The Jets enter Wednesday's game with a 2-0 record, and are ranked 10th in the latest NSCAA/HendrickCars.com South Central Regional Ranking. Both of Newman's wins have come at the hands of Sade Humphrey, who netted the game-winning goal in double overtime in both games this season. Defensively, Christina Farid has yet to allow a goal through two games this season, making 13 saves and earning Heartland Conference Defensive Player of the Week honors for the first week of the season.

Scouting the Hawks
Rockhurst brings a 1-1 record into Wednesday's contest after picking up a 2-0 win over Illinois-Springfield Sunday afternoon in Springfield, Ill. The Hawks are Newman's only Great Lakes Valley Conference opponent of the season. The two teams have not met on the women's soccer field since the 1993 season, when Newman picked up a 4-2 win over the Hawks in Kansas City. The all-time series between Newman and Rockhurst is tied at 2-2.
