Oklahoma Time
Head to Oklahoma to take on the RiverHawks and Hillcats for the second time this season, with the Jets looking to avenge two losses from earlier in the season.

Last Time Out
Before the game against Emporia State, seniors Triston Turner, Thomas Zevgaras, Latik Murphy, Kwaku Agyapong and Chase Wiebe were honored for their contributions to Newman Basketball.

The five seniors all started against the Hornets and got off to a fast start. Starting the game with a strong 7-0 lead in the first four minutes, senior Thomas Zevgaras was a big contributor for the Jets in the first half with his work in the paint.

The Jets took a double digit lead at one point in the half, thanks to some excellent shooting from leading scorer Stevie Strong, who finished the game with a team high twenty points.

The Hornets went on a run in the second half that brought them back within just a point and wouldn't even get their first lead of the day until the middle of the second half.

The Jets briefly took the lead from another Strong three pointer, but Emporia State would finally get the breakaway they had been looking for as the Jets fell into a perilous position.

Four points would be the closest the Jets would get back within the lead, as it was the Hornets who took an eleven-point win at the end, winning 75-64.

Behind Enemy Lines
The RiverHawks, who scored an upset win over Missouri Western last weekend, come into Thursday with a 9-15 record. NSU is currently in tie for 12th place with Newman, with the RiverHawks beating Newman in the first meeting of the season.

NSU's chances of making the tournament were dashed last weekend, after they lost to #11 Northwest Missouri State.

Rogers State is a completely different team than the last time the two teams met, with Rogers improving to fifth in the conference and securing an MIAA tournament berth after a close win at Missouri Western.

The Hillcats are a tough team to take down at home, winning eight and losing only three this season.

The Series
After the RiverHawks defeated the Jets in January, Newman stands at 4-7 all time against Northeastern State. The two have traded wins and losses in the past few meetings, with Newman looking for their first ever win at NSU on Thursday.

The Jets have lost ten straight against the Hillcats, with Newman's all-time record against Rogers State at 5-17. Newman has not won in Claremore since the 2017/18 season.

Homecoming
The Jets will host their final home game of the season against Missouri Western for homecoming next Thursday at 7:30 PM.
