After that, the Hornets responded by taking the lead and increasing it to seven points half way through the first period. With 8:02 to go in the half, a three pointer from Jordan Glenn-Hawkins tied the game at 23s. Both teams battled back and forth but it was Newman who led the scoreboard at the break, 40-46.
