Box Score WICHITA – Harriet Jakeman scored the game-winning golden goal in the 99 minute of overtime to lift Newman women's soccer to a 2-1 victory against Oklahoma Christian on Thursday (Sept. 12) at Wilkins Field. The Lady Jets moved to a perfect 2-0 on the season, while OC dropped to 1-2.
 
Jakeman, a sophomore from North Yorkshire, England, knocked in the ball after the OC goalkeeper misplayed a ball sent in from Channing Kelley. Kelley picked up the assist on the game-winning goal. The Lady Jets controlled overtime, getting off three shots compared to zero from OC.
 
With the Lady Jets up 2-1, the Eagles forced overtime with a goal in the 62nd minute as OC's Somer Helms dribbled into the box and scored on the right side.
 
NU took a first half lead on a goal from Mei-Mei Senthavy, her team-leading third of the season, in the 22nd minute.
 
Haley Borchers went the complete 98:01 in goal for NU, making seven saves and allowing the one goal. She is 2-0 on the season.
 
The Lady Jets take to the road for three straight. NU travels to Northwestern Oklahoma State on Sunday (Sept. 15) and then goes to Washburn and Emporia State the following week.
